Brisket

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Pat the brisket dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the brisket.

  2. 2

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine minced serrano peppers, lemon juice, miso paste, and brown sugar. Heat on medium-low, stirring until the miso and sugar are dissolved. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, then remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Brisket

Place the brisket in a roasting pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil. Roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 190°F (88°C).

  4. 4

    Glaze and Finish

Remove the brisket from the oven and uncover it. Brush a generous amount of the serrano limon miso BBQ sauce on top of the brisket. Return it to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once the brisket is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve with sliced jalapeños and B&B pickles on the side.
