Directions
- 1
Prepare the Brisket
Trim excess fat from the brisket, leaving about 1/4 inch of fat for flavor.
- 2
Apply BBQ Rub
Generously rub the BBQ spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it's evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
- 3
Preheat the Smoker or Oven
Preheat your smoker or oven to 225°F (107°C).
- 4
Cook the Brisket
Place the brisket in the smoker or oven fat side up. Cook for approximately 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- 5
Add Liquid
During the last hour of cooking, mix the beef broth and apple cider vinegar. Pour this mixture into the pan under the brisket to keep it moist.
- 6
Rest the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the smoker or oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
- 7
Serve with BBQ Sauce
Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite BBQ sauce on the side.
