Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the spare ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Let the ribs sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  4. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover tightly with another layer of foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.

  5. 5

    Add the Sauce

After baking, remove the top layer of foil and brush the ribs with barbecue sauce. Return to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before cutting. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
