Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brunswick Stew

In a large pot, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion is translucent.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Add the shredded chicken, beef brisket, and pulled pork to the pot. Stir in the vegetable broth, diced tomatoes, corn, green beans, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Stew

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld together.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Cornbread

While the stew is simmering, preheat your oven according to the cornbread mix instructions. In a bowl, combine the cornbread mix, milk, and egg. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake until golden brown, following package instructions.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once the Brunswick stew is ready and the cornbread is baked, serve the stew hot in 16 oz bowls alongside pieces of cornbread.
