For the Onion Rings
Method
For the Onion Rings
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings from each other and set them aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the Pabst Blue Ribbon beer until the batter is smooth and has a thick consistency.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off before carefully placing them in the hot oil.
- 5
Fry the Onion Rings
Fry the onion rings in batches, cooking them for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
