Method
Crispy Garlic Shrimp
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture until well coated.
- 2
Fry the Shrimp
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the coated shrimp in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Garlic Chicken
- 3
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, mix minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 20 minutes.
- 4
Cook the Chicken
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked and juices run clear. Remove from heat and slice.
Sweet Wasabi Aioli
- 5
Make the Aioli
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, wasabi paste, honey, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
Assemble the Wailoa Bowl
- 6
Build the Bowl
In a bowl, place 1 cup of cooked rice as the base. Top with sliced garlic chicken, crispy garlic shrimp, and a drizzle of sweet wasabi aioli. Sprinkle with furikake seasoning and garnish with sliced green onions.
