Method

Roast Turkey

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

Rub softened butter all over the turkey. Season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stuff the cavity with fresh rosemary and thyme.

  3. 3

    Roast the Turkey

Place the turkey breast-side up on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan. Roast for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  4. 4

    Rest the Turkey

Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Stuffing

  1. 8

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped celery and onion, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. 9

    Combine the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, sautéed celery and onion, sage, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Pour in chicken broth gradually until the mixture is moistened.

  3. 10

    Bake the Stuffing

Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Mac Salad

  1. 11

    Cook the Macaroni

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water.

  2. 12

    Combine the Salad Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix together the cooked macaroni, mayonnaise, diced celery, and grated carrots. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 13

    Chill the Salad

Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Pumpkin Pie

  1. 14

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt, and evaporated milk until smooth.

  2. 15

    Fill the Pie Crust

Pour the pumpkin filling into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  3. 16

    Bake the Pie

Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set.

  4. 17

    Cool the Pie

Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack before serving.
