Method

Prepare the Aioli

  1. 1

    Making the Black Pepper Aioli

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, black pepper, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Set aside in the refrigerator to chill.

Cook the Mushrooms

  1. 2

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, add a small amount of oil. Once hot, add sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they become golden brown and tender. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Form and Cook the Patty

Divide the ground Angus beef into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Season each side with salt and pepper. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Tillamook cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 4

    Building the Steakhouse Burger

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown. On the bottom half of each bun, layer a handful of mixed greens, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, crispy onions, and slices of tomato. Spread a generous amount of black pepper aioli on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the stacked ingredients to complete the burger.
