Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Begin by cutting the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces, and set aside. Ensure the shrimp is peeled and deveined before use.

  2. 2

    Chop Vegetables

Slice the bell pepper, and prepare the broccoli florets and sliced carrots. Set all vegetables aside.

Make Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine.

  2. 4

    Thicken the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Add this slurry to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Cook Chicken

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 6

    Add Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet with the chicken and cook until the shrimp turns pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 7

    Stir-Fry Vegetables

Add the bell pepper, broccoli florets, and sliced carrots to the skillet. Stir-fry the mixture for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  4. 8

    Add Teriyaki Sauce

Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. Stir well to coat all ingredients evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serve

  1. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top. Serve hot over rice or noodles if desired.
