Method

Beef Marinade

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk together until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Slice the beef thinly against the grain and add it to the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for better flavor.

Rice Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Rice

In a medium pot, combine long-grain rice and water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until rice is tender and water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.

Cooking the Beef

  1. 4

    Cook the Beef

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade, shaking off excess. Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove from heat and let it rest.

Assemble the Loco Plate

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

On a large plate, scoop a generous serving of rice. Top with cooked beef, followed by shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and chopped green onions. Garnish with sesame seeds and nori strips. Drizzle with Sriracha if desired.
