Rice and Toppings
Method
Beef Marinade Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved. Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the marinade, making sure each piece is coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
Cooking the Beef
- 2
Cook the Beef
Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. Pour the reserved marinade over the beef and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Assemble the Dish
- 3
Serve the Loco
In a serving bowl, place a serving of cooked white rice as the base. Top with the cooked teriyaki beef, sliced green onions, and toasted sesame seeds. Finish with a fried egg on top. Serve immediately.
