Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Remove the membrane from the back of the spare ribs for better flavor absorption.

  2. 2

    Apply Dry Rub

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture generously over all sides of the ribs.

  3. 3

    Wrap the Ribs

Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

Preparation of BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix BBQ Sauce Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, smoked paprika, and salt. Stir well and bring to a simmer.

  2. 5

    Simmer the Sauce

Allow the sauce to simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.

Preparation of Coleslaw

  1. 6

    Mix Coleslaw Dressing

In a large bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Combine Coleslaw

Add the coleslaw mix to the bowl and toss until well coated with the dressing. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Finishing the Ribs

  1. 8

    Glaze the Ribs

After baking, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  2. 9

    Broil the Ribs

Place the ribs under the broiler for 5-10 minutes until the sauce caramelizes and forms a nice glaze.

Serving

  1. 10

    Slice and Serve

Slice the ribs into individual portions and serve hot with coleslaw on the side.
