Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Start by preheating your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture generously over the pork ribs.

  3. 3

    Create Marinade

In a separate bowl, combine apple cider vinegar, honey, soy sauce, and liquid smoke. Pour this marinade over the seasoned ribs and let them marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 4

    Wrap and Bake

Wrap the marinated ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

  2. 5

    Prepare BBQ Sauce

While the ribs are baking, prepare the BBQ sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until thickened.

  3. 6

    Glaze the Ribs

After baking, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Broil

Place the glazed ribs under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes to caramelize the sauce and create a nice crust.

  2. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining BBQ sauce on the side.
