Method
Preparation of Pork
- 1
Slice the Pork
Begin by slicing the pork tenderloin into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. This will help it cook evenly and absorb the teriyaki sauce.
- 2
Marinate the Pork
In a bowl, combine the sliced pork with half of the teriyaki sauce (reserve the other half for later) and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Cooking Vegetables
- 3
Prepare the Vegetables
While the pork is marinating, wash and chop the broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces.
- 4
Stir-Fry the Vegetables
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still crisp. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
Cooking the Pork
- 5
Cook the Pork
In the same skillet, add the marinated pork and cook over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and no longer pink.
- 6
Add Teriyaki Sauce
Pour in the reserved teriyaki sauce and bring to a simmer. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl and add to the sauce to thicken it. Stir for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is glossy and coats the pork.
Assembly
- 7
Combine and Serve
In serving bowls, layer the cooked rice, followed by the stir-fried vegetables, and top with the teriyaki pork. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
