Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine the large peeled and deveined shrimp with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly in the seasoning. Let sit for about 15 minutes to marinate.

Breading Station

  1. 2

    Prepare Breading

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. Place the all-purpose flour in the first dish, the beaten eggs in the second dish, and the panko breadcrumbs mixed with paprika and dried parsley in the third dish.

  2. 3

    Bread the Shrimp

Take each seasoned shrimp, dip it first into the flour, shaking off excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat for all shrimp.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Serve the crispy panko shrimp hot with lemon wedges and a side of tartar sauce for dipping.
