Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

Start by rinsing 1 cup of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed sushi rice and 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes.

Protein Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Ahi Tuna

While the rice is cooking, cut 200 grams of fresh Ahi tuna into small cubes. Place them in a bowl and drizzle with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Gently mix to coat the tuna.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 4

    Slice the Vegetables

Thinly slice 0.5 cup of cucumber, 1 medium avocado, and 4 radishes. Chop 2 stalks of green onions. Set aside.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon of sriracha. Mix well until smooth.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Bowl

Once the rice has cooled slightly, fluff it with a fork. In a serving bowl, add a layer of rice, followed by the marinated tuna, sliced cucumber, avocado, radishes, and green onions.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds over the top and add torn pieces of nori (1 piece) and 2 tablespoons of pickled ginger.

  3. 8

    Drizzle the Sauce

Finally, drizzle the sriracha mayonnaise sauce over the poke bowl before serving.
