Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Smoked Pork
If the smoked pork shoulder is not pre-cooked, smoke it in a smoker or in an oven at low temperature (around 225°F) until it reaches an internal temperature of 190°F. This usually takes about 6-8 hours. Once done, shred the pork shoulder and set aside.
- 2
Slice the Baguette
Carefully slice the baguette in half lengthwise to create a top and bottom piece for the sandwich.

Top the Sandwich
Place the top half of the baguette over the filled bottom half to complete the sandwich.
Cooking
- 5
Butter and Toast
In a skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, carefully place the sandwich in the skillet and press it down slightly with a spatula. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy, then flip the sandwich carefully and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- 6
Serve
Once both sides of the sandwich are crispy and the cheese has melted, remove from the skillet. Let it cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
