Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Thinly slice the onion and chop the green onions. Mince the garlic cloves. Cut the cabbage into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Cook the Kalua Pork

If you have leftover Kalua pork, shred it into bite-sized pieces. If you are making it from scratch, slow-cook the pork with Hawaiian sea salt until tender and fully cooked.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

Add the sliced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

  3. 5

    Add the Cabbage

Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, stirring well to combine with the onions and garlic. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage wilts.

  4. 6

    Incorporate the Kalua Pork

Stir in the shredded Kalua pork, soy sauce, Hawaiian sea salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until everything is heated through and flavors are blended.

  5. 7

    Finish and Serve

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot as a delicious side dish or main course.
