Method

Preparing the Rice

  1. 1

    Rinse the Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

In a rice cooker or pot, combine the rinsed sushi rice and water. Cook according to your rice cooker's instructions or bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Let the Rice Rest

Once cooked, let the rice sit covered for an additional 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork.

Preparing the Fish

  1. 4

    Cube Ahi Tuna

Slice 200 grams of Ahi Tuna into bite-sized cubes. Set aside.

  2. 5

    Prepare Marinated Ahi

For marinating, slice 100 grams of Ahi Tuna into thin strips and place in a bowl.

  3. 6

    Marinate Ahi Tuna

In a separate bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, and sesame seeds. Pour this marinade over the sliced Ahi Tuna and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Assembling the Poke Bowl

  1. 7

    Add Rice to Bowl

In a serving bowl, place a generous scoop of the cooked sushi rice as the base.

  2. 8

    Add Toppings

Top the rice with the cubed Ahi Tuna, marinated Ahi Tuna, sliced avocado, and pickled ginger Namasu.

  3. 9

    Add Furikake

Sprinkle the Furikake seasoning over the top for added flavor.

  4. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh Jackie's Poke Bowl!
