Preparing the Burger Patties
1. Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until evenly combined.
2. Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 3/4 inch thick.
3. Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
4. Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place one slice of cheddar cheese and one slice of American cheese on each patty. Cover until the cheese is melted.
Assembling the Burger
5. Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
6. Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a slice of tomato, the cheeseburger patty, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
7. Finish the Burger
Top with the other half of the bun. Press down gently and set aside.

8. Heat the Oil
In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
9. Fry the French Fries
Carefully add the French fries to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
10. Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste while still hot.
