Method

Prepare Rice

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

In a fine mesh strainer, rinse 1 cup of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed sushi rice and 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and cover. Cook for 18-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes.

Prepare Vegetables

  1. 3

    Slice Cucumber

Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise and slice into thin half-moons.

  2. 4

    Julienne Carrot

Peel the carrot and cut into thin matchsticks.

  3. 5

    Slice Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and slice into wedges.

  4. 6

    Prepare Radishes

Trim the tops and bottoms off the radishes, then slice them thinly.

Mix Sauce

  1. 7

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon of sriracha until well combined.

Assemble Bowl

  1. 8

    Layer Ingredients

In a serving bowl, add a scoop of the prepared sushi rice as the base. Top with slices of imitation crab, cucumber, carrot, avocado, and radishes.

  2. 9

    Add Sauce

Drizzle the sauce over the top of the bowl.

  3. 10

    Garnish

Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.
