Method

Preparation of Shrimp

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated with the seasoning. Set aside for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Breading Setup

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Stations

Set up three shallow dishes: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for the bread crumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese. Place the flour in the first dish, whisk the eggs in the second dish, and mix the bread crumbs and Parmesan in the third dish.

Breading the Shrimp

  1. 3

    Coat the Shrimp

Take each shrimp, dip it first in the flour, ensuring it is fully coated. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, and finally coat it in the bread crumb mixture. Place the breaded shrimp on a plate while you repeat the process for all shrimp.

Frying the Shrimp

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Shrimp

Carefully place the breaded shrimp into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Garnish

Arrange the fried shrimp on a serving plate. Serve with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley for garnish.
