Cooking Rice

Prepare the Rice
Rinse 1 cup of jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice and 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat.

Simmer
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for another 10 minutes.

Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and 0.5 teaspoons of black pepper. Add 0.5 pounds of sliced beef sirloin and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Assemble the Vegetables
In a small bowl, combine the julienned carrot, cucumber, blanched spinach, and 0.5 cups of thinly sliced radish. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds.

Assemble the Dish
In a serving bowl, add a generous scoop of cooked rice. Top with the grilled BBQ beef, chilled vegetables, and a fried egg. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of gochujang and garnish with chopped green onions.

Serve immediately, allowing everyone to mix the ingredients together before eating.
