Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Mix the Marinade
In a medium bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and olive oil. Whisk together until well mixed.
- 2
Marinate the Beef
Place the beef sirloin or flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring that it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
Cooking the Beef
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).
- 4
Grill the Beef
Remove the beef from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the beef on the preheated grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (135°F for medium-rare).
- 5
Rest the Meat
Once cooked, remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
- 6
Slice and Serve
Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips. Arrange on a serving plate and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.
