Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Flip occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once done, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 4

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Add the burger patties to the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked burger patty with cheese, crispy bacon, and slices of tomato. Drizzle ketchup and mustard on top, then place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
