Bread
Garlic Herb Butter
Method
Bread
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F or 43°C) and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a larger mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Incorporate the chopped rosemary while kneading.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Shape it into a small loaf and place it in a greased 8x4 inch loaf pan.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the loaf with a cloth again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- 7
Bake the Bread
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Remove from the pan and let cool slightly.
