Grilled Onions

Method

Preparing the steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the rib eye steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from grill and let it rest for a few minutes.

Making Garlic Butter

  1. 3

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic (from the 3 cloves) and cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley.

Grilling the Onions

  1. 4

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the yellow onion into thin rings. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced onions, salt, and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.

Final Assembly

  1. 5

    Serve the Steak

Slice the rested rib eye steak against the grain. Top with the garlic butter and serve alongside the grilled onions.
