Base Layer

Method

Base Layer

  1. 1

    Prepare the Base

In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and the mixture resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Press into Pan

Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x9 inch baking pan to create an even layer. Use the back of a measuring cup to compact it tightly.

  3. 3

    Bake the Base

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Filling

  1. 4

    Mix the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition.

  2. 5

    Add Flavorings

Stir in the vanilla extract and coconut cream until well combined. Set aside.

  3. 6

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until no streaks remain.

  4. 7

    Combine Filling with Base

Pour the filling over the cooled crust and smooth the top with a spatula. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Topping

  1. 8

    Prepare the Topping

In a small bowl, mix together the toasted shredded coconut, chocolate chips, and chopped macadamia nuts.

  2. 9

    Finish the Bar

Once the filling has set, sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the top of the bars. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
