Sushi Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare Sushi Rice
Rinse 1 cup of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions, typically adding 1 1/4 cups of water for every cup of rice. Once cooked, let it cool slightly and season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to taste.
- 2
Prepare Spicy Tuna Mix
In a bowl, combine 200 grams of sushi-grade tuna, 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of sriracha, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and set aside.
- 3
Rolling the Sushi
- 4
Assemble the Roll
Lay a bamboo sushi mat on a clean surface and place one sheet of nori on top, shiny side down. Wet your hands to prevent sticking, then take a handful of sushi rice and spread it evenly over the nori, leaving about 1 inch at the top edge.
- 5
Add Fillings
In the center of the rice, place a line of spicy tuna mix, followed by a layer of cream cheese and a few slices of avocado.
- 6
Roll the Sushi
Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the sushi away from you, applying gentle pressure to keep the roll tight. Once you reach the bare edge of the nori, wet it with a little water to seal the roll.
- 7
Slice the Roll
Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into 6-8 pieces, wetting the knife between cuts to ensure clean slices.
