Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, and then add the whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. 5

    Divide the Batter

Divide the batter into two equal portions. In one portion, fold in the cocoa powder until fully incorporated.

  6. 6

    Layer the Batter

In the center of each prepared cake pan, pour a large scoop of the plain batter, then top it with a scoop of the chocolate batter. Repeat until both batters are used up, creating a marbled effect.

  7. 7

    Bake the Cakes

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.

Decoration Preparation

  1. 8

    Make the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well. Add the milk to achieve a spreadable consistency.

  2. 9

    Color the Frosting

Divide the frosting into two bowls. In one bowl, mix in the orange food coloring until the desired shade is achieved. In the other bowl, mix in the black food coloring.

  3. 10

    Frost the Cakes

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of orange frosting on top, then add the second cake layer. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining orange frosting.

  4. 11

    Add Black Decoration

Using black frosting, create tiger stripes on the top and sides of the cake to mimic a tiger's fur.

  5. 12

    Chill and Serve

Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving to allow the frosting to set.
