Method
Preparation
- 1
Prep the Brussels Sprouts
Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Rinse them under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely. Set aside.
- 3
Slice the Green Onions
Slice the green onions thinly, separating the green tops from the white bottoms.
Cooking
- 4
Cook the Brussels Sprouts
In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the Brussels sprouts, cut side down, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown. Flip them and cook for another 5 minutes until tender.
- 5
Prepare the Soy Glaze
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, minced garlic, and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- 6
Add the Soy Glaze
Pour the soy glaze over the Brussels sprouts in the skillet. Stir to coat them evenly and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 7
Finish with Butter and Seasoning
Stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter, black pepper, and half of the sliced green onions. Toss everything together until well combined.
- 8
Serve
Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish, sprinkle with sesame seeds and the remaining green onions, and serve warm.
