For Cooking

Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped cabbage, grated carrot, sliced green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

Assemble the Gyoza

  1. 2

    Fill the Wrappers

Take a gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Be careful not to overfill. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water using your finger.

  2. 3

    Seal the Gyoza

Fold the wrapper in half over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges together to seal, ensuring there are no air pockets. You can create pleats on one side for a traditional look.

  3. 4

    Repeat

Continue the filling and sealing process until all the filling is used up.

Cook the Gyoza

  1. 5

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Pan-fry the Gyoza

Place the gyoza in the skillet, making sure they are not touching. Pan-fry for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.

  3. 7

    Steam the Gyoza

Carefully add 100 ml of water to the skillet and cover immediately with a lid. Steam the gyoza for about 5-7 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.

  4. 8

    Serve

Remove the lid and let them cook for an additional minute to make them crispy again. Serve warm with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
