Wontons
Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce
Method
Wontons Preparation
- 1
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Mix until well combined and set aside.
- 2
Assemble Wontons
Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling in the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- 3
Heat Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry Wontons
Carefully place the sealed wontons in the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Dipping Sauce Preparation
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, cornstarch, and water. Stir well to dissolve the sugar and cornstarch.
- 6
Cook the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
