Method
Filling Preparation
- 1
Mix the Filling
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.
Wrapper Assembly
- 2
Prepare the Wrappers
Take a wonton wrapper and place it on a clean, dry surface. Spoon about 1-2 teaspoons of the crab filling into the center of the wrapper.
- 3
Seal the Wrappers
Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle or envelope shape, pressing the edges firmly to seal. Repeat this process until all wrappers are filled.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Rangoon
Carefully add the filled wonton wrappers to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried crab rangoon from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with sweet and sour sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
