Preparing the Pork Belly

Cook the Pork Belly
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the pork belly and simmer for about 1 hour until tender. Remove and let it cool before slicing.

Season the Pork Belly
Once cooled, slice the pork belly into 1 cm thick pieces. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
Preparing the Chashao

Slice the Chashao
Thinly slice the chashao (Chinese BBQ pork) into bite-sized pieces.
Assembling the Buns

Steam the Buns
Steam the bao buns according to package instructions until soft and fluffy.

Layer the Ingredients
Take a steamed bun, place a leaf of lettuce inside, followed by 2-3 slices of pork belly, a few slices of chashao, and a generous dollop of Kewpie mayonnaise. Add pickles on top for an extra crunch.

Serve
Repeat the layering process for the remaining buns. Serve immediately while warm.
