Method

For the Lava Cake

  1. 1

    Prepare the Batter

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until thick and pale. Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture, vanilla extract, and mix until combined. Fold in the flour gently until just incorporated.

  3. 3

    Bake

Divide the batter among the prepared ramekins. Place them on a baking tray and bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is still soft. Let them cool for 1 minute before inverting onto plates.

For the Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

  1. 4

    Melt the Chocolate

Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Dip each strawberry into the chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.

  2. 5

    Set the Strawberries

Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined tray and let them set in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens.

For the Frangelico Chantilly

  1. 6

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and Frangelico. Using an electric mixer, whip until soft peaks form.
