Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Macerated Berries

In a bowl, combine fresh strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss until strawberries are coated, then let sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the juices to release.

  2. 2

    Make the Waffle Batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  4. 4

    Cook the Waffles

Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with non-stick spray or a little melted butter. Pour enough batter into the waffle iron to cover the surface, close the lid, and cook until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.

  5. 5

    Make the Chantilly Cream

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until it starts to thicken. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue to beat until soft peaks form.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Waffle

Place a waffle on a plate, top with macerated strawberries, and a dollop of Chantilly cream. Serve immediately.
