Method
Baking Directions
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour along with the melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- 5
Shape the Loaf
Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased loaf pan.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes until it has risen again.
- 7
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 8
Bake the Loaf
Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
- 9
Cool
Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
