Bread Pudding
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bread Pudding
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined. Stir in the cubed brioche bread until it is fully soaked.
- 2
Bake the Bread Pudding
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 3
Prepare the Spiced Pecans
In a skillet over medium heat, toast 1 cup of pecans with 1 tablespoon of butter, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and a pinch of cayenne pepper for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
- 4
Make the Bourbon Caramel Sauce
In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, and 1/4 cup of bourbon. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- 5
Serve
Once the bread pudding is baked, let it cool slightly. Serve warm topped with spiced pecans and drizzled with bourbon caramel sauce.
