Wonton Filling and Sauce
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked crawfish tails, jalapeño cream cheese, chopped green onions, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Assemble the Wontons
Lay out a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place a tablespoon of the crawfish filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle shape and press to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets.
- 3
Fry the Wontons
Heat the oil in a deep skillet or fryer over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the wontons in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Serve with Satsuma Pepper Jelly
Serve the fried crawfish wontons hot, drizzled with satsuma pepper jelly or as a dipping sauce on the side.
