Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly over both sides of the ribeye steak. Rub the seasonings into the meat to ensure they adhere well.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, approximately 450°F (232°C) to 500°F (260°C). If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to ash over before cooking.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Oil the Grill Grate

Using tongs, dip a paper towel in olive oil and wipe the grill grate to prevent the steak from sticking.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side for medium-rare. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side.

  3. 5

    Check for Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 130°F (54°C) to 135°F (57°C). Adjust cooking time as necessary based on your preferred doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for at least 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye steak against the grain and serve hot. Enjoy with your favorite sides.
