Gather all the ingredients needed for the sandwich.

Assemble the Sandwich
Spread Dijon mustard on two slices of rye bread. Layer the corned beef brisket on one slice, followed by Swiss cheese. Top with the other slice of bread.

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwich in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Press down slightly with a spatula for even toasting.
