Method
Prepare Ahi Tuna

Marinate the Tuna
In a shallow dish, combine soy sauce, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Add the ahi tuna steaks and marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Coat with Sesame Seeds
Remove the tuna from the marinade and press each side into the sesame seeds until fully coated.

Sear the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil, then sear the tuna for 1-2 minutes on each side for rare doneness. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.
Prepare Wasabi Aioli

Mix Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, wasabi paste, lemon juice, and minced garlic until smooth. Adjust wasabi to taste.
Make Pickled Ginger

Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine sliced ginger, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

Pickle the Ginger
Remove from heat and let cool. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Mix Slaw Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and chopped cilantro.

Dress the Slaw
In a separate bowl, whisk together sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey. Pour over the slaw and toss to coat evenly.
