Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with flour to prevent sticking.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

3

Mix Sugar and Eggs

In another mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, large eggs, and egg yolks until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.

4

Combine Mixtures

Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.

5

Add Flour

Sift in the all-purpose flour and gently fold it into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6

Fill Ramekins

Evenly distribute the batter among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

7

Bake the Cakes

Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

8

Cool Slightly

Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1-2 minutes. Carefully run a knife around the edges to loosen the cakes.

9

Invert and Serve

Invert each ramekin onto a plate and gently lift it off. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings on top.
