Prepare Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.

Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Simmer the Sauce
Add canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine, then bring to a simmer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add Meatballs to Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

Finish the Sauce
Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.

Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add salt. Cook the spaghetti or pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

To serve, place a portion of pasta on a plate, top with meatballs and marinara sauce, and garnish with additional fresh basil if desired.
