Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Meat
If using raw chicken or beef, cook it thoroughly. For chicken, grill or sauté until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). For beef, cook until browned. Once cooked, shred or ground the meat as desired.
- 2
Slice the Jalapeños
If using fresh jalapeños, slice them into thin rings. If using canned jalapeños, drain them well.
Assembly
- 3
Layer the Chips
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet, ensuring they are not overlapping.
- 4
Add Cheese and Toppings
Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the tortilla chips. Add the cooked chicken or beef evenly across the chips. Top with sliced jalapeños.
Baking
- 5
Melt the Cheese
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
Serving
- 6
Add Garnishes
Remove the nachos from the oven and immediately top with dollops of sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. Serve hot.
