Fried Pickle Chips

Method

Fried Pickle Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place flour in the first, beaten eggs mixed with milk in the second, and combine cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the third.

  3. 3

    Coat the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the cornmeal mixture, ensuring they are well coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the coated pickle slices to the hot oil in batches, frying them for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried pickle chips hot with the spicy aioli on the side.

Spicy Aioli

  1. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, lemon juice, and minced garlic until well blended.

  2. 8

    Season

Add salt to taste, adjusting the spice level with extra sriracha if desired.

  3. 9

    Serve

Transfer the spicy aioli to a serving bowl and serve alongside the fried pickle chips.
