Taco Ingredients

Spicy Aioli

Method

Blackened Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ahi Tuna

Brush the ahi tuna steaks with olive oil on both sides. Generously coat the steaks with blackening seasoning.

  2. 2

    Cook the Tuna

Heat a skillet over high heat until very hot. Add the seasoned tuna steaks and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Asian Slaw

  1. 3

    Prepare the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, chopped green onions, and chopped cilantro.

  2. 4

    Make the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and salt.

  3. 5

    Combine Slaw and Dressing

Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss until well combined. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

Spicy Aioli

  1. 6

    Make the Aioli

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, lime juice, and minced garlic. Mix well until smooth and thoroughly combined.

Black Beans

  1. 7

    Prepare the Black Beans

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the drained black beans, cumin, and salt. Cook for about 5 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Assemble Tacos

  1. 8

    Warm Tortillas

In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 9

    Assemble the Tacos

Layer the warm tortillas with slices of blackened ahi tuna, a scoop of black beans, a generous amount of Asian slaw, and a drizzle of spicy aioli.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for an extra kick.
