Baby Back Ribs

Sweet Potato Fries

Method

Baby Back Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Rub this spice mixture all over the baby back ribs.

  3. 3

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and cover them tightly with foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

  4. 4

    Glaze the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top layer of foil, and brush the barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.

  5. 5

    Finish Cooking

Increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes. This will caramelize the barbecue sauce.

Sweet Potato Fries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Sweet Potatoes

While the ribs are baking, wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut them into fries or wedges.

  2. 7

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.

  3. 8

    Bake the Fries

Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Coleslaw

  1. 9

    Prepare the Vegetables

Shred the green cabbage and grate the carrots. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 10

    Make the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 11

    Combine

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, and toss until everything is well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
