Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the sirloin steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 3

    Make Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in chopped parsley and remove from heat.

Salad Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Salad

In a mixing bowl, combine rocket greens and preserved cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, then season with salt and black pepper. Toss gently to combine.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Serve the Dish

Slice the rested steak and place it on a plate. Top with garlic butter. Serve alongside the rocket salad and a generous portion of fries.
